Cashmere is a hair fibre. It responds to gentle handling and punishes heat and agitation.
The essentials
- Wash by hand, cool. Cool water, pH-neutral wool detergent. A 30 °C wool cycle is an acceptable substitute.
- Dry flat, never hang. Press the water out, reshape while damp, dry flat away from heat and direct sun.
- Let it rest. A day or two between wears lets the fibre recover its loft.
- Pilling is normal. Lift pills with a cashmere comb or stone — never pull them off.
- Store clean and folded. Moths are drawn to soiled fibre. Fold, don't hang, and keep cedar or lavender nearby.
By construction
- Knitwear, woven shirting, scarves, throws — hand wash cool, dry flat.
- Tailored and lined pieces — specialist dry clean; internal construction will not survive immersion.
- Camel, yak and sheep wool — the same rules apply.
Labelling
We do not manufacture trim. Neck labels, care labels, composition labels, hangtags and packaging are sourced through vetted Ulaanbaatar suppliers we introduce you to and coordinate alongside production — they are not made on our floors. What we do is sew your labels in as part of production. Composition declarations and country-of-origin documentation we issue ourselves as the manufacturer.
