Shima Seiki MACH2XS Live: Whole-Garment Programmes Just Got Faster

Our newest Shima Seiki MACH2XS whole-garment knitting machine went live last week, compressing full-fashioned production times by roughly a third.

Our newest Shima Seiki MACH2XS whole-garment knitting machine went live on the production floor last week. For brand partners running whole-garment programmes, this changes timelines and capacity in real ways.

About the machine

The MACH2XS is Shima Seiki's latest-generation whole-garment system — faster carriage speeds, improved yarn feed consistency, and (critically for cashmere) gentler handling of fine fibres through the knitting cycle. A full fully-fashioned crew-neck pullover that previously took 75 minutes to produce now runs in closer to 50 minutes.

What this unlocks

  • Shorter whole-garment sampling turnaround — from 4–5 weeks to 3 weeks on standard styles
  • Capacity expansion for seamless collections (dresses, fully-fashioned cardigans, seamless loungewear)
  • Better performance on delicate cashmere-silk and cashmere-wool blends

Case in point

Our Atelier Sampling programme now includes reserved MACH2XS capacity for qualified partners — 3-week sample turnaround is now a conservative estimate rather than an optimistic one.

If you're considering whole-garment construction for the first time, we're offering evaluation samples at no cost to qualifying brands through June. Tell us what you're thinking about.
