Beyond Certification

Commitments & Practices

Voluntary undertakings and supply-chain practices. These are commitments we have made rather than standards we have been audited against — listed separately so the distinction is never in doubt.

Voluntary Code of Practice

Wool and Cashmere Sustainable Production

AVSF Mongolia with the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association, under the EU SWITCH-Asia STeP EcoLab programme

Signed 5 February 2021, committing us to environmentally friendly and socially responsible production. We signed the Code five months before the national standard was approved, and were certified against that standard two years later.

Independent Testing

Independent Laboratory Testing

Accredited testing of fibre, yarn and colour

An accredited laboratory at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Ulaanbaatar

Fibre identity and fineness, composition and blend ratio, yarn, and colourfastness are tested at an accredited university laboratory as standard — on our own production, whether or not a customer asks. Coarse-hair content is measured to MNS 3913:2009 and MNS 2949:2008, and blend ratios are confirmed by quantitative chemical analysis rather than asserted. The same laboratory also helps calibrate and cross-check our in-house instruments, so our own inspection records are set against an accredited reference. A wider scope — wear performance, chemical safety, process integrity and SEM-EDS analysis — can be run on your programme on request.

Scope Fibre, yarn, fabric, dyeing and chemical analysis
Valid Ongoing arrangement

The laboratory holds the accreditation — this is our testing practice, not a certification we hold

Per-Order Documentation

Supporting Documentation

The documentation your compliance team would expect from a Mongolian cashmere export. Tailored per order and provided on request.

Commercial Invoice

Itemised export invoice for customs clearance, stating HS codes, composition, quantities, and unit prices.

Packing List

Carton-by-carton breakdown with net and gross weights, dimensions, and SKU counts.

Certificate of Origin

Chamber of Commerce–stamped certificate attesting Mongolian origin. Required in most import jurisdictions.

Composition Declaration

Per-style declaration of fibre composition percentages, suitable for regulatory labelling compliance (US, EU, UK).

Testing Reports

Test reports from an accredited university laboratory. Fibre fineness, composition and blend ratio, yarn count and twist, and colourfastness are tested as standard; pilling, dimensional stability, abrasion, formaldehyde and pH, and keratin damage can be added to your programme. Held per lot and per stage, issued on request.

Lot Traceability Records

Per-lot and per-stage records connecting the finished product to its originating fibre source, including lab and QC test results for the stages a buyer needs to evidence. Issued on request as part of the order documentation pack.

Fumigation Certificate

Issued where destination country regulations require — confirms treatment of wooden crates and packaging materials.

Material Safety Data

Dye chemistry, finishing agents, and treatment declarations — for brands with REACH or Prop 65 obligations.
