Programme
Herd-to-Cone™
Full fibre traceability from herder cooperative to finished yarn cone.
Every kilogram of cashmere we spin can be traced back to its source — the cooperative, the collection season, and the herder community. Herd-to-Cone is our end-to-end documentation programme for brand partners who need auditable, verifiable supply chains.
What it is
Supply-chain transparency, documented per lot
For a long time, cashmere traceability meant taking the mill’s word for it. Herd-to-Cone changes that. Every bale entering our facility is numbered, graded, and tied to a specific cooperative and collection season. That lot number travels with the fibre through scouring, dehairing, spinning, and finishing — and appears on the documentation packet that ships with every order.
The outcome is simple: when your compliance team asks where a particular yarn lot came from, you have the answer in writing. No intermediaries, no gaps, no unknowns.
How it works
Four stages, every lot
01
Direct cooperative sourcing
We work directly with herder cooperatives across the Mongolian steppe. No brokers, no commodity traders, no intermediary hands. Every partnership is documented with signed agreements and annual audits.
02
Lot numbering at intake
Every bale is weighed, graded for fineness and staple, photographed, and assigned a traceability lot number on arrival. That number links it to the specific cooperative, herder family, and collection window.
03
Chain-of-custody tracking
Lot numbers stay with the fibre through every production stage — scouring, dehairing, spinning, dyeing, finishing. Our ERP logs every handoff between departments, stamped and signed.
04
Documentation shipped with every order
Each shipment includes a traceability certificate tying finished yarn back to source lots. Supporting documents — cooperative ID, collection dates, grading data — available on request for audits.
