Refund policy
Refund Policy
Blue Sky Cashmere operates as a business-to-business cashmere manufacturer. All transactions on blueskycashmere.trade are inquiry-based: pricing, terms, and delivery are confirmed through quotation, sample approval, and a signed proforma invoice or purchase order. The terms below govern refunds across each stage of our engagement.
If anything in this policy conflicts with a separately signed agreement between Blue Sky Cashmere and a buyer, the signed agreement controls.
Sample orders
Yarn cards, fabric swatches, and stock garment samples are produced or pulled from inventory specifically to support a buyer's evaluation. Because of this, samples are non-refundable once dispatched.
In two cases we will, at our discretion, replace samples or credit the sample fee against a future order:
- Sample lost in transit after 21 business days from dispatch (we will trace with the courier first, then replace at our cost).
- Sample arrives damaged in a way that prevents evaluation (photo evidence required within 7 days of receipt).
Sample fees, where charged, are typically credited against a buyer's first production order at our discretion. This credit is confirmed in writing on the proforma invoice and does not apply retroactively.
Development and sampling fees (custom development, OEM, ODM)
Where Blue Sky Cashmere develops a yarn, fabric, or garment to a buyer's specification (tech pack, sketch, or written brief), the buyer is invoiced for development time, machinery setup, and the production of one or more pre-production samples.
Development and sampling fees are non-refundable once work has commenced. "Commenced" means our R&D, design, or technical team has begun fibre sourcing, yarn winding, knitting or weaving setup, or hand work toward the buyer's specification.
If a buyer cancels before any development work has begun and before sample yarn or fabric has been committed, fees paid will be refunded in full, less an administrative charge equal to 10% of the development fee or USD 150, whichever is lower.
Production orders
Production begins after the buyer signs off on a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) and Blue Sky Cashmere has received the deposit specified on the proforma invoice (typically 30–50% of total order value).
- Before PPS approval and deposit: the buyer may cancel the order. Any development and sampling fees already incurred remain non-refundable.
- After PPS approval and deposit: the deposit is non-refundable because raw materials, yarn dyeing, and machinery time have been committed.
- After production has commenced: the order cannot be cancelled. Buyer remains liable for the full balance per the proforma invoice.
If production output fails to conform to the approved PPS or to the agreed tolerances in the tech pack, Blue Sky Cashmere will, at our option and at our cost: remake the affected units, repair where possible, or credit a proportional amount against the order. The buyer must notify us in writing with photographs and reference to specific units within 14 calendar days of receipt of the shipment.
This is the buyer's exclusive remedy for non-conforming production. We do not accept returns on production garments that conform to the approved PPS, including for reasons of changed buyer preference, market conditions, or buyer's customer rejection.
Damage in transit
Blue Sky Cashmere packs shipments in FSC-certified cartons and uses freight forwarders we have qualified for cashmere transport. Shipments leave our mill with a packing list and dimensional/weight documentation.
If a shipment arrives with visible exterior damage, the buyer must:
- Photograph the damaged carton(s) before opening.
- Note the damage on the carrier's proof-of-delivery.
- Notify us in writing within 5 business days of receipt at
blueskycashmere.store@gmail.comwith photos and the carrier's incident reference number.
We will support the buyer's claim against the carrier and, where insurance applies, will assist with the claim. Where Blue Sky Cashmere arranged carriage on the buyer's behalf and insurance was included, we will work to ensure the buyer is made whole.
Defects identified after delivery
A defect is a fault in workmanship or material that does not appear in the approved PPS and falls outside agreed tolerances. Cashmere is a natural fibre — minor variation in handle, dye lot, and pilling characteristics is inherent and not a defect.
Buyer must notify us at blueskycashmere.store@gmail.com within 14 calendar days of receipt with:
- The shipment reference and PO number
- Photographs of the affected units
- Description of the defect and the units affected (style, size, quantity)
Confirmed defects are remade, repaired, or credited at our option. We do not refund cash for confirmed defects unless the buyer's relationship with their end customer cannot be remedied any other way and we have agreed to a cash refund in writing.
Currency, taxes, and chargebacks
- Refunds and credits are issued in the original transaction currency.
- Bank fees, currency conversion losses, and remittance charges are the buyer's responsibility.
- Any refund is net of taxes or duties already collected by carriers or customs authorities on the buyer's behalf.
- A buyer initiating a chargeback or payment dispute through their bank or card scheme without first contacting us at
blueskycashmere.store@gmail.comwill be deemed in breach of these terms.
How to request a refund or claim
Send the following to blueskycashmere.store@gmail.com:
- The PO number or sample reference
- The reason for the request (sample lost, transit damage, defect, cancellation)
